New NPE Sues Terumo Cardiovascular Systems over Patents Related to Cardiopulmonary Bypass Surgery

Airmid IP [NPE] filed suit against Terumo Cardiovascular Systems Corporation, alleging that the defendant’s ROCSafe condensed bypass perfusion circuits and related equipment infringe two patents related to condensed perfusion circuits for cardiopulmonary bypass and cardioplegia.  This is the first patent infringement suit initiated by Airmid IP.  According to the complaint, the co-inventors assigned title and their relevant rights in the patents-in-suit to Airmid.  No assignments related to the patents-in-suit have been recorded at the USPTO.  6/26, Eastern District of Michigan, assigned to District Judge Avern Cohn and referred to Magistrate Judge Laurie J. Michelson, 2:2012cv12796.
