Flatworld Interactives LLC filed suit (1:12-cv-00804) against Samsung, alleging that Samsung’s smartphones, tablets, and media players infringe a patent (RE,43,318) generally related to manipulation of an image on a display. Flatworld has filed one prior suit since April 2012 against Apple. According to the complaint, Flatworld was formed in January 2007 for the purpose of promoting and commercializing the patent-in-suit, which was assigned to Flatworld by inventor Milekic Slavoljub in October 2011.
