June 15, 2012 – Acacia Research announced that its subsidiary, Compression Technology Solutions, entered into a settlement agreement with HP.  In September 2011, Compression Technology Solutions filed suit against seven companies, including CA, EMC, HP, IBM, and NetApp, alleging that the defendants’ software infringes a patent generally related to parsing data into packets.  Acacia reported a patent license and settlement agreement with CA in January 2012.
