Mitchell Medina’s Content Extraction and Transmission Sues Electronics for Imaging

June 13, 2012

Content Extraction and Transmission (CET) [NPE] filed suit against Electronics for Imaging.  The complaint is currently unavailable.  CET has filed nine prior suits since November 2011, alleging that the defendants’ ATM deposit service or electronic document systems infringe patents either related to document conversion or related to an application program interface that enables users to extract and transmit data.  Before being assigned to CET in October 2011, the patents-in-suit in the prior suits had been assigned to various entities (Millennium L.P., Eon-Net, and Glory Licensing) established by Mitchell Medina, one of the inventors.  Medina has filed more than 120 lawsuits since 1996 through several patents holding entities.  6/7, Southern District of New York, Judge Paul G. Gardephe, 1:2012cv04486.
