Walker Digital Sues Four Gaming Companies

July 25, 2011

Walker Digital [NPE] filed suit against 2K Sports, 2K Games, Rockstar Games, and Take-Two Interactive Software over two patents related to online electronic tournaments for a plurality of players. All four defendants had been voluntarily dismissed by Walker Digital from its April 25, 2011 filing over the same two patents. In January, 2011 Walker Digital also asserted one of the above patents-in-suit in an infringement action against Activision, Blizzard, and Zynga. Walker Digital, which formed a strategic partnership with IP Navigation in January, 2011, is the owner of over 500 patents and pending patent applications.  Since October, 2009 the company has filed over 30 patent infringement suits against more than 150 unique defendants. 7/22, District of Delaware, 2:2011cv00649.
