June 6, 2012 – Reuters reports that Netflix launched its own content delivery network, “Open Connect,” for streaming movies and TV shows.  According to the article, Open Connect currently handles only 5% of Netflix’s traffic and it will be a few more years until the company is able to deliver most of its content through Open Connect.
