NPE Changes Name and Files Suit against Rackspace with Patents from Symantec

Clouding IP [NPE] filed suit against Rackspace Hosting, alleging that Rackspace’s cloud computing services, file synchronization services, and network monitoring services infringe nine patents related to network management, file synchronization, and remote access.  The patents-in-suit originated with various entities, and were assigned to STEC IP by Symantec in February 2012.  STEC IP filed five separate suits against AmazonAppleGoogleMicrosoft, and Oracle on May 22, 2012, and according to the USPTO, STEC IP changed its name to Clouding IP.  5/29, District of Delaware, no judge yet assigned, 1:2012cv00675.
