May 24, 2012 – Seagate Technology announced the acquisition of hard-drive manufacturer, LaCie for $186 million. According to the company’s website, LaCie develops external hard drives, RAID arrays, optical drives, flash drives, and LCD monitors. LaCie does not appear to have been named as a defendant in a patent lawsuit since 2009.
