New NPE Sues Cloud Companies with Patents from Symantec

Stec IP [NPE] filed five separate suits against Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Oracle, alleging that the defendants’ cloud computing products infringe seven to 11 patents (depending on the defendant) related to a network management, file synchronization and remote access. The patents-in-suit originated with various entities, and were assigned to Symantec between March 1997 and February 2012.
