Unified Messaging Solutions (UMS) [NPE] filed suit against HSBC, alleging that HSBC’s online banking service infringes four patents related to web-based messaging systems.  UMS has filed over 20 prior suits since March 2011 against over 40 defendants including American Express, AT&T, Bank of New York Mellon, eBay, Etsy, Facebook, Google, Morgan Stanley, RIM, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile, Time Warner,  Travelocity,  Twitter,  Vanguard, Verizon, Walgreen, and Yahoo.
