May 14, 2012 – Intellectual Ventures (IV) and Nvidia announced that they have jointly acquired patents related to 3G and 4G technologies from mobile networking technology provider, IPWireless.  The patents were reportedly split between Nvidia and IV. The IPWireless patent portfolio has been the subject of multiple sales efforts since 2009 when a subset of the portfolio was initially marketed for sale. According to the USPTO, 43 US patents have been issued to IPWireless to date.
