May 9, 2012 – The SF Chronicle reports that Deutsche Telekom is exploring a potential merger its T-Mobile unit with MetroPCS.  According to the article, Deutsche Telekom is expected to report the loss of 470,000 T-Mobile customers during the first quarter of 2012. Verizon Wireless reportedly added 501,000 customers during the quarter and AT&T added 187,000. MetroPCS gained 132,000.
