May 3, 2012 – Acacia Research announced that its subsidiary, B.I. Systems, entered into a license agreement with IBM. In September 2011, B.I. Systems filed suit against Actuate, IBM, Information Builders, Lawson Software, and Qlik Technologies, alleging that the defendants’ computer-based visual data evaluation systems infringe a patent related to business intelligence and performance management programs.
