Alcorn Communications [NPE] filed suit against Vocus, alleging that Vocus’ use of PRWeb’s news release service infringes two patents related to the structured generation and distribution of a news release.  This is the first patent infringement suit initiated by Alcorn Communications.  According to the complaint, Alcorn is the exclusive licensee of the patents-in-suit, which originated with NewsGems and were assigned to Kolomoki Mounds in June 2010.
