Elia Data of Texas Sues Citrix

April 26, 2012

Elia Data of Texas [NPE] filed suit against Citrix Systems, alleging that Citrix’s Zen, Cloud and NetScaler products infringe a patent related to providing secure transport of secure packets between a first and second node.  Elia Data filed one prior suit on April 5, 2012 against Microsoft.  According to the complaint, Daniel Perez is the president of Elia Data.  Perez has been linked to several past NPE litigation campaigns. The patent-in-suit was assigned to Elia Data by inventor Sandy Kronenberg in January 2012.  RPX reviewed the patent as open market opportunity “Kronenberg” in September 2011.  The patent was marketed with an exemplary claim chart relating the patent to peer to peer networking.  4/25, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 2:2012cv00257.
