April 26, 2012 – Gartner reports that worldwide security software revenue totaled $17.7 billion in 2011, a 7.5% increase over 2010 revenue of $16.4 billion. According to the report, Symantec leads the security software market with 20.6% market share followed by McAfee with 6.9%, Trend Micro with 6.8%, IBM with 5.3%, and EMC with 4%.
