NPE Targets Inmate Calling Services

Howlink Global [NPE] filed suit against Conversant Technologies, DSI-ITI, Global Tel*Link, Public Communications Services, Sip*Link, and Value-Added Communications, alleging that the defendants’ phone services for prison inmates infringe a patent related to a collect call service based on VoIP technology.  Howlink Global filed one prior suit in February 2011 against ten defendants.  The patent-in-suit was assigned to Howlink Global by inventor Ey-Taeg Kwon in February 2011.  4/18, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 4:2012cv00230.
