Reshare Commerce Sues Zermat

April 17, 2012

Reshare Commerce [NPE] filed suit against Zermat, alleging that Zermat’s website infringes a patent related to a computer facilitated selling system.  Reshare has filed eight prior suits since November 2009 against over 30 defendants.  According to its website, Reshare has licensed its patent to over 20 companies, including many defendants from its prior suits.  The patent-in-suit was assigned to Reshare Corporation by inventor Adam Southam in June 1999, and Reshare Corporation assigned the patent to Reshare Commerce in September 2009.  According to Southam’s LinkedIn profile, he was the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Reshare Corporation.  Reshare Corporation’s assets were conveyed to Reshare Commerce in exchange for over 99.9% of Reshare Commerce stock.  Southam remains the sole Director/Officer and majority shareholder of Reshare Corporation.  4/11, District of Minnesota, Judge Richard Nelson, 0:2012cv00899; 0:2012cv00900; 0:2012cv00901.
