Personal Audio Sues Apple Again

July 21, 2011

Personal Audio [NPE] filed a second suit against Apple over a patent related to playlist management. According to the 2011 complaint, Apple and Personal Audio entered into two stipulations expressly reserving newly released products for this second lawsuit.  In the previous suit, filed in 2009, Personal Audio was awarded $8 million in damages after a jury found the Apple iPod infringed both the current patent-in-suit and one other patent, also related to playlist management.  The accused products in the new suit include the newest generations of iPod, iPhone, and iPad.  7/20, Eastern District of Texas, 9:2011cv00120.
