April 10, 2012 – SAP announced that it has acquired enterprise mobile application provider, Syclo.  According to the company’s website, Syclo provides mobile applications for various industries, including utilities, oil and gas, EAM asset management, CRM field service, and transportation.  Gartner reports that mobile phones are expected to overtake PCs as the most common Web access device worldwide by 2013, and the acquisition is reportedly part of SAP’s strategy to drive growth and innovation in core applications, analytics, enterprise mobility, cloud, and database technology.
