April 10, 2012 – MediaTek announced that it has acquired Coresonic, a provider of Digital Signal Processor (DSP) technology. According to the company’s website, Coresonic claims to develop the world’s smallest and lowest power DSP cores for wireless baseband applications. Coresonic will reportedly become another wholly owned subsidiary of MediaTek in Europe.
