21st Mortgage Corporation Files for DJ against Autoscribe and Pollin Patent Licensing

21st Mortgage Corporation filed an action for declaratory judgment against Autoscribe [NPE] and Pollin Patent Licensing (PPL) [NPE], seeking declaration that 21st Mortgage’s telephone debt collection services do not infringe five patents related to processing checks by phone.  Robert Pollin is the named inventor on the patents-in-suit, and in the complaint, Autoscribe purports to be the assignee of all legal rights, title, and interest in and to the patents-in-suit and PPL is the exclusive licensee.  Autoscribe and PPL have filed seven prior suits against Allstate, AT&T, Capital One, Citibank, Combine Insurance Services, FIA Card Services, HSBC, Illinois Bell Telephone, SBC Internet, Sun Trust Banks, United States Cellular, and Wells Fargo, and were defendants in an action for declaratory judgment brought by Online Resources.  4/4, Eastern District of Tennessee, Judge Thomas W.
