Automated Facilities Management Corporation (AFMC) [NPE] filed suit against Assetpoint, alleging that Assetpoint’s TabWare Xi products infringe a patent related to managing building facilities using data transfer between server computers and client computers.  AFMC originally filed suit against Assetpoint in February 2012, and on April 5, 2012, AFMC filed a notice of voluntary dismissal.  AFMC is a subsidiary of Acacia Research and has filed eight prior suits since August 2007 against over a dozen defendants including IBM.  The patent-in-suit originated with OnMyTeam.com and was assigned to TangoPoint in April 2007.  According to the complaint, AFMC is the exclusive licensee of the patent-in-suit.  4/4, District of South Carolina, Judge Michelle Childs, 6:2012cv00959.
