Uniloc Asserts Another Recently-Acquired Patent

Uniloc [NPE] filed six separate suits against Ipswitch, Rosetta Stone, SolarWinds, StorageCraft, Telerik, and TI, alleging that the defendants’ software infringes a patent related to software piracy prevention technology.  Uniloc has filed over a dozen prior suits since September 2003 against over 80 defendants including Activision Blizzard, Adobe, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, and Sony. Reuben Bahar is the named inventor on the patent-in-suit, which was assigned to Uniloc in June 2011.  This is the first time the ’696 patent has been asserted in litigation.  3/30, Eastern District of Texas, Judge Leonard Davis, 6:2012cv00227; 6:2012cv00228; 6:2012cv00229; 6:2012cv00230; 6:2012cv00232; 6:2012cv00233.
