Acacia Subsidiary Sues IFS North America

Automated Facilities Management Corporation (AFMC) [NPE] filed suit against IFS North America, alleging that the IFS’s software applications infringe a patent related to managing building facilities using data transfer between server computers and client computers.  AFMC is a subsidiary of Acacia Research and has filed seven prior suits since August 2007 against over a dozen defendants including IBM.  The patent-in-suit originated with OnMyTeam.com and was assigned to TangoPoint in April 2007.  According to the complaint, AFMC is the exclusive licensee of the patent-in-suit.  3/30, Northern District of Illinois, judge not yet assigned, 1:2012cv02408.
