MacroSolve Sues Bank of America and MovieTickets.com

MacroSolve [NPE] filed two separate suits against Bank of America and MovieTickets.com, alleging that the defendants’ mobile applications infringe a patent related to managing data collected from remote computing devices.  MacroSolve has filed over 20 prior suits since March 2011 against over 40 defendants including AOL, AT&T, CitiGroup, Dell, Facebook, Groupon, Newegg, Priceline, Salesforce, Travelocity, Wal-Mart, and Yelp.  In November 2010, MacroSolve reportedly raised $775,000 from current and other institutional investors to support its patent monetization efforts.  J. David Payne is the named inventor on the patent-in-suit, which was assigned to MacroSolve in August 2003. 3/23, Eastern District of Texas, 6:2012cv00193; 6:2012cv00194.
