NPE Sues 18 Home Networking Defendants

Powerline Innovations [NPE] filed two separate suits against over 15 defendants, alleging that the defendants’ methods for establishing a networked relationship with home electrical systems infringe a patent related to the control of networked devices that is allegedly essential to the HomePlug AV / IEEE 1901 – 2010 standards.  Powerline has filed three prior suits since August 2011 against over 25 defendants including ASUS, Belkin, Broadcom, Cisco, Logitech, Motorola Mobility, Netgear, Panasonic, Qualcomm, Sharp, and Western Digital. Cyberlynx assigned the patent-in-suit to Powerline in July 2011.  3/13, Eastern District of Texas, 6:2012cv00133; 6:2012cv00134.
