Epic Technology [NPE] filed suit against ShopSavvy, alleging that ShopSavvy’s mobile applications infringe a patent related to obtaining real-time retail pricing information utilizing a bar code or RFID reader on a handheld device.  This is the first patent infringement suit filed by Epic Technology.  The patent-in-suit was issued in March 2011 and the named inventor, Trent Baker, assigned the patent to Epic Technology in November 2011.  Baker is also the patent attorney representing Epic Technology in this lawsuit.  3/9, District of Utah, 2:2012cv00249.
