Lumen View Technology (LVT) [NPE] filed suit against Avotus, alleging that Avotus’ eProcurement system offered through its website infringes a patent related to web auctions that facilitate evaluation between a client and vendor.  This is the first patent infringement suit filed by LVT.  According to the complaint, LVT is the exclusive licensee of the patent-in-suit, which was developed by Eileen Shapiro and Steven Mintz at DecisionSorter before being assigned to Dalton Sentry in September 2010.  In November 2010, two other patents from the Dalton Sentry portfolio were asserted by Blackstone River [NPE] against Eharmony, Humor Rainbow, Match.com, Matrima, Plentyoffish, and True Beginnings.  That case was dismissed with prejudice in October 2011.  3/9, District of Delaware, 1:2012cv00291.
