NPE Sues Sonim Technologies

March 6, 2012

MLR [NPE] filed suit against Sonim Technologies, alleging that Sonim’s phones infringe five patents related to facilitating wireless communication over networks using different radio frequencies, transmission protocols, and radio infrastructures.  Since March 2002, MLR has been subject to three actions for declaratory judgment and has filed six prior suits against over 20 defendants including Kyocera, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Toshiba, and ZTE.  The patents-in-suit originated with Spectrum Information Technologies, a wireless communications technology company that filed for bankruptcy in January 1995, before being assigned to MLR in September 2000.  3/1, Eastern District of Virginia, 2:2012cv00109.
