Uniloc [NPE] filed two separate suits against 123RF, Inmagine, Revostock, and V.R. Media Resources, alleging that the defendants’ license rights management systems infringe a patent acquired by Uniloc in 2011. These suits mark  the first time the patent-in-suit has been asserted in litigation. Uniloc has filed over a dozen prior suits since September 2003 against over 80 defendants including Activision Blizzard, Adobe, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, and Sony over an unrelated patent. The patent-in-suit originated with RightsLine (a right management software provider) and was assigned to Uniloc by Michael Devereaux (a member of the RightsLine board of directors) in April 2011.
