Smart Audio Technologies (SAT) [NPE] filed three separate suits against Apple, Creative Labs, and Philips Electronics, alleging that the defendants’ media players infringe a patent related to a vehicle audio systems. Accused products are audio devices for generating and modifying play lists for random access players.  These are the first patent infringement suits initiated by SAT.  The patent-in-suit originated with Delco Electronics. RPX reviewed the patent-in-suit as part of an open market (Delphi) opportunity in 2008.  No recordation to SAT from Delphi has been recorded with the USPTO.  2/3, District of Delaware, 1:2012cv00134; 1:2012cv00135; 1:2012cv00136.
