Acacia Research Subsidiary Sues Computer Power Software Group

Automated Facilities Management Corporation (AFMC) [NPE] filed suit against Computer Power Software Group, alleging that the defendant’s “operating control system” software infringes two patents related to managing building facilities. AFMC is a subsidiary of Acacia Research and has filed three prior suits since August 2007 against over a dozen defendants including IBM. The patents-in-suit originated with OnMyTeam.com and were assigned to TangoPoint in April 2007. According to the complaint, AFMC is the current owner of the patents-in-suit, but the assignment has yet to be recorded in the USPTO database. 1/31, Eastern District of California, 2:2012cv00259.
