NPE Sues Facebook, Hyatt, Newegg, Wal-Mart, and Yelp

MacroSolve [NPE] filed five separate suits against Facebook, Hyatt, Newegg, Wal-Mart, and Yelp, alleging that the defendants’ mobile applications infringe a patent related to managing data collected from remote computing devices.  MacroSolve has filed 15 prior suits since March 2011 against over 40 defendants including AT&T, CitiGroup, Dell, Groupon, Priceline, Salesforce, and Travelocity.  In November 2010, the company received $775,000 from current and other institutional investors to support its patent monetization efforts.  J.
