NPE Sues 17 Defendants over Blade Server Products

December 26, 2011

Consolidated Work Station Computing (CWSC) [NPE] filed suit against Acer, CDW, Cybertron, Egenera, Freedom USA, Fujitsu, HP, Huawei, McAfee, NEC, Next International, PC Connection Express, PC Mall, Signal Micro Systems, Super Micro Computer, TigerDirect, and Unique Digital Technology, alleging that the defendants’ blade server products infringe a patent related to PC-CPU motherboards with common fault-tolerant power supply.  CWSC claims the defendants are properly joined because they are alleged to infringe the patent-in-suit through a large number of overlapping blade server products.  CWSC filed one prior suit in November 2010 against Dell and IBM.  12/22, Eastern District of Texas, 6:2011cv00696.
