University Sues Micron Technology

December 6, 2011

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois [NPE] filed suit against Micron Technology, alleging that Micron’s semiconductor chips infringe three patents related to the use of deuterium in the fabrication of semiconductors.  According to the complaint, the University and Micron entered into an agreement in 2004 in which the University would treat wafers provided by Micron with the University’s proprietary deuterium anneal process.  The University filed one prior suit against Proctor & Gamble in April 2007.   12/5, Central District of Illinois, 2:2011cv02288.
