Transfer of Visual Interactive Case against AT&T Mobility

November 18, 2011

Visual Interactive Phone Concepts (VIPC) [NPE] filed suit against AT&T Mobility, alleging that AT&T Mobility’s mobile communications devices infringe two patents related to a videophone mailbox that stores video/voice and video/text images.  This case is a transfer from the Eastern District of Michigan.  Since 2005, VIPC has filed 11 prior suits over the same two patents against defendants including Apple, Google, and Samsung.  The patents-in-suit were reaffirmed with minor amendments to the claims during ex parte reexaminations in 2010.  The patents-in-suit were assigned to inventors, John Davidsohn and Anthony Cinotti, prior to being assigned to VIPC in June 1999.  11/17, Northern District of Georgia, 1:2011cv03960.
