NPE Sues Office Gemini

November 17, 2011

Content Extraction and Transmission (CET) [NPE] filed suit against Office Gemini.  The complaint is currently unavailable.  CET filed one prior suit on November 3, 2011, alleging that Executive Technologies doing business as SearchExpress’ document imaging and management products infringe seven patents related to an application program interface that enables users to extract and transmit data.  This was the first patent infringement suit initiated by CET.  The patents-in-suit have been assigned to various NPEs (Millennium L.P., Eon-Net, and Glory Licensing) established by Mitchell Medina, one of the inventors.  Medina has filed more than 120 lawsuits since 1996 through several patent holding entities.  11/10, Southern District of New York, 1:2011cv08159.
