October 4, 2011 – Adobe announced the acquisitions of Nitobi Software and Typekit for undisclosed sums. Nitobi is the creator of PhoneGap, an open source platform for building mobile applications with HTML5 and JavaScript, and its customers include AT&T, Bank of America, and NASA.  Typekit offers over 250,000 customers, including The New York Times, IGN, and Twitter, a subscription-based library of fonts to be used on their websites.
