Variant Holdings [NPE] filed two separate suits against over 80 hotel and travel booking websites and related entities over a patent related to online systems for marketing goods and services.  Variant has filed three prior suits since 2008 against over 40 defendants including Nextag and Yelp.  9/15, Eastern District of Texas, 2:2011cv00422; 2:2011cv00427.
