September 1, 2011- IBM announced the acquisition of risk analytics software provider, Algorithmics, for $387 million. Algorithmics supplies software to 25 of the top 30 banks and a large number of insurers. Customers include The Allianz Group, HSBC, Nomura, and Societe Generale.
