August 30, 2011- Ericsson announced the completion of the acquisition of machine to machine (MTM) technology from mobile telecommunication provider, Telenor.  M2M technology is used to capture event information from a device and forward it over a wired or wireless network to a software application.  M2M is currently used in a variety of applications including smart meters, inventory management, and mobile payments.
