Devices That Double as Hotspots Accused of Infringing Former Delphi Patent
Blackberry, HTC, LG, Nokia, Samsung, Sony, and ZTE are the first defendants sued by SecureNova. SecureNova is asserting a single patent related to configuring a secondary device to receive communication services from a primary device (7792482). The patent-in-suit originated with Dephi Technologies and was transferred through FTE Exchange to SecureNova in late 2012. The complaints accuse defendants’ mobile devices that can be used as portable hotspots of infringing the asserted patent. RPX saw the asserted patent as part of an open market deal offered in April 2013. 11/1, Eastern District of Texas, 2:13cv00904, 2:13cv00905, 2:13cv00906, 2:13cv00907, 11/8, Eastern District of Texas, 2:13cv00950, 2:13cv00951, 2:13cv00952
