MXGO Targets AT&T and Yahoo in Latest Filing

December 5, 2013

MXGO hasn’t filed suit since September 2011 and its new litigation asserts two patents that weren’t part of its previous case. The new filings, against AT&T and  Yahoo, asserts two patents related to a communication server for getting information from users and sending appropriate response messages (6,779,022; 7,546,351). Yahoo’s ‘Mail Plus’ service is accused of infringing the patent-in-suit and AT&T is joined in the suit for providing the service to its customers. The patent’s inventors assigned both patents to MXGO in 2006 although the ’022 was previously assigned to Rambus and Open Grid by the same inventors. MXGO’s previous litigation asserted a patent also related to conveying messages to a plurality of users and named a number of email service providers including GoDaddy, J2 Global, and Rackspace. 12/3, Eastern District of Texas, 2:13cv01055
