Acacia subsidiary Super Resolution Technologies filed three suits this week, adding to the first case it filed last year. The new lawsuits, against Carl Zeiss Microscopy, Leica Microsystems, and Nikon, assert three patents that originated with Stereonic International and were assigned to Super Resolution in August 2013. They relate to nanoscopy using a fluorescent agent to illuminate the object being viewed (7,803,634; 8,110,405; 8,334,143). Defendants all make or sell super-resolution microscopes and those are the products accused of infringing the patents-in-suit. Super Resolution is also currently asserting the ‘405 patent against GE Healthcare Biosciences in a suit filed in October 2013. 1/ 10, Northern District of Texas, 3:14cv00083, 1/10, Southern District of Texas, 4:14cv00063, 4:14cv00067
