Cellular Communications Equipment sued Apple along with carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Cellular Communications, a subsidiary of Acacia Research, is asserting a group of five patents (6,377,804, 6,819,923, 7,215,962, 7,941,174, 8,055,820) that were acquired from Nokia Siemens in 2007. Cellular launched its campaign in June 2013 and has filed suits against Amazon, BlackBerry, Dell, HTC, LGE, Microsoft, NEC, Pantech, and ZTE. As of the date of the newest filing against Apple, the cases against the other defendants all appear to be active.
