Pragmatus Telecom Adds Five New Defendants

February 13, 2014

Pragmatus Telecom’s prolific litigation campaign now includes five new suits against Aiphone, Interactive Intelligence, KANA, Rheem, and Vizio, asserting the three patents that are the foundation of its campaign as well as an additional patent that was issued in the last year. The patents that Pragmatus asserts relate to an online communication system that connects users to a help or customer service call center (6,311,231, 6,668,286, 7,159,043, 8,438,314). In each of Pragmatus’ more than 70 cases defendants’ live chat help service, either sold by the defendant or made available on its website, is accused of infringing the patents-in-suit. The same allegations appear in the newly filed complaints. RPX acquired sublicense rights for clients to the patents in August 2011 (Bell Aliant). 2/6, District of Delaware, 1:14cv00162, 1:14cv00163, 1:14cv00164, 2/7, District of Delaware, 1:14cv00169, 1:14cv00170
