Spatium Innovations filed suit against Adobe, Blackboard, Cisco, and Facebook in the entity’s first patent assertion litigations. The suits assert two patents related to capture and replay of sessions of collaborative activity (5,717,869, 5,717,879). Web conferencing services offered by Adobe and Cisco, along with interactive collaboration tools made by Blackboard and Facebook, are accused of infringement. Both patents originated with Xerox and were the subject of several security agreements in the early 2000s. They were acquired by Bluestone Innovations in December 2013 and then transferred to Spatium one day later. Assignment data indicate that the two entities are related as they share an address and a correspondent.
