Sony Is Fourth Defendant in Inventor’s Campaign Targeting Online Media Providers

Inventor William Grecia filed suit against Sony alleging  infringement of a patent related to authorizing access to digital content in a “cloud system” (8,533,860). Grecia, who lives in Brooklyn, New York,  filed suits against online media distributors Apple, Google, and Microsoft in the Northern District of Illinois in December 2013. All three defendants have since filed motions to transfer. The Google case has been transferred to California and the case against Microsoft was moved to Washington.
