Penovia filed almost 40 new suits against makers of mobile handsets, audio devices, and Bluetooth headsets including Acer, Apple, Archos, Asus, BlackBerry, HTC, Fujitsu, Kyocera, LG, Lenovo, Logitech, Motorola, Nokia, Pantech, Philips, Sony and ZTE. The patent-in-suit, 5,822,221, relates to monitoring office machines. The Penovia campaign, launched in May 2013, has struck more than 40 defendants to date. Most of the past defendants were printer manufacturers and makers of routers.
